About JR ISL

PURPOSE

  • To stimulate more interest and excitement among younger surfers by promoting and emphasizing team spirit of competitive surfing.

  • To provide clear framework, structure and format for JR ISL matches, playoffs and championships.

  • To promote interest in professional surfing among younger generations of surfers, from beginners to master surfers.

  • To promote surfing and competition as a family friendly, affordable, and fun activity.

JR ISL & AAU PARTNERSHIP

  • The Amateur Athletics Union (AAU), established in 1888, now has 700,000 athletes in +40 sports and is an international organization.

  • AAU is the official partner of the JR ISL. 

  • All JR ISL clubs, athletes and coaches are to have current registration with the AAU.

  • AAU is to sanction and provide insurance for JR ISL competitions.

  • AAU provides athlete protection policies, coaching and officials’ certifications.

  • JR ISL will provide the playbook and formats for the JR ISL matches.

  • Rules and regulations for JR ISL competitions will follow standards established by the local governing aquatic federation and FINA (World Aquatics).

  • JR ISL and AAU can inspire the age group swimmers through its competitive format and access to world class athletes.
